Local Elko HVAC Work From a Owner Who Answers the Phone

Great Basin Heating and Air is owned and run by Tyler Johnson, who works in Elko and takes the calls himself. We are based at 1345 Water St Unit 6 in Elko, NV 89801, and we are open 24/7 because a furnace failure in January or an AC unit that quits during a July heat spell does not wait for business hours. Tyler grew up knowing that Elko's weather is hard on equipment, and the work we do reflects that: we focus on getting heating and cooling running reliably through our high desert seasons, where summers run hot and winters run cold and dry. Much of our work is in Downtown Elko and South Elko, where many homes were built in an era when ductwork was tucked into tight attic and crawlspace spaces and equipment was sized by rule of thumb. When we open up an older system in those neighborhoods, we often find undersized returns, duct runs that lost their insulation, or condensers installed with little clearance from fences and landscaping. We take those details into account on every AC Repair call and every AC Replacement and Installation estimate, because a like-for-like swap rarely fixes the root problem. We also serve homes and businesses around the Elko County Fairgrounds and the Western Folklife Center area, and we regularly drive out to Spring Creek, Carlin, and Winnemucca when a customer needs us there. Each of those communities has its own mix of housing and wind, dust, and temperature swings, so we plan visits with that in mind. We would rather explain a problem clearly than sell you something you do not need. When we quote a repair or a replacement, you get an upfront price and a plain-language explanation of what is failing, what it will cost to fix, and what we recommend. If the best answer is to keep an older unit running a little longer, we will say so. If a system is worn out and throwing good money after it no longer makes sense, we will show you exactly why, and you can look at the components we pulled and judge for yourself.
